Outline of the Conference

The 14th International Conference on Discrete Simulation of Fluid Dynamics in Complex Systems (DSFD 2005) will be held in Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, from August 22 to August 26, 2005.

The aim of the Conference is to provide the opportunity to present recent progress and to obtain information about new direction for leading researchers working on discrete simulations of fluid dynamics in a broad sense.

The following subjects will be included in the scope of the conference:

• lattice gas automata
• the lattice Boltzmann equation
• dissipative particle dynamics
• smoothed-particle hydrodynamics
• direct simulation Monte Carlo
• stochastic rotation dynamics
• molecular dynamics

There will be sessions on

• advances in both theory and computation
• engineering applications of discrete fluid algorithms
• fundamental issues in statistical mechanics, kinetic theory, and hydrodynamics

Site of the Conference

The conference will take place in the Clock Tower Centennial Hall in Yoshida Campus of Kyoto University. The campus is located in the north-east part of Kyoto City and is close to Higashiyama and Kitashirakawa zones that contain many historically and touristically important temples and gardens.
