Analytical and Finite Element Solutions for an Elastic Matrix with Nanoscale Inhomogeneities |
講演要旨: |
Two-dimensional elastic field due to remote loading of an infinite or finite elastic matrix with a nano-scale inhomogeneity or an eigenstrain in the inhomogeneity is investigated in this paper. The Gurtin-Murdoch surface stress theory is applied to take into account the surface stress effects. By using the complex potential function techniques of Muskhelishvili, analytical solutions can be obtained for a circular or elliptical inhomogeneity in an infinite matrix. The finite element method (FEM) is employed to study the elastic field of a finite plate with nano-scale inhomogeneities. Selected numerical results are presented to show the size-dependency and other salient features of the elastic field. |
