On the estimation of global air-sea flux of CO2 |
講演要旨: |
Global air-sea flux of CO2 is estimated and a new global mapping of the air-sea CO2 exchange is presented by using of six different schemes for gas transfer velocity (k). Two of the schemes depend on the sea state, and the others depend only on wind speed. The annual average global air-sea CO2 flux for the former (1.90 GtCyr-1) is much greater than that for the latter (1.22 GtCyr-1) during the period 1948-2004. The annual average value for the six schemes is 1.45 GtCyr-1. A zone between 30o and 60o latitudes in southern hemisphere and a zone between 30o and 50o latitudes in northern hemisphere are the major sinks of atmospheric CO2, with the peak located at 40o latitude in both hemisphere. The main source for atmospheric CO2 locates in the band between -20o S and 20oN. The results show that global ocean absorbs more and more CO2 from 1948 to 2004. The variation of Schmit number of sea water and solubility of CO2 with temperature and salinity in different latitude also affects the global air-sea CO2 flux greatly.
