講演要旨: |
The simulation of the motion of interacting particles is a deceivingly simple, yet powerful and natural, method for exploring physical systems as diverse as planetary dark matter and proteins, unsteady separated flows, and plasmas. Particle simulations of continuum and molecular phenomena can be formulated by following the motion of interacting particles that carry the physical properties of the flow. In this talk we discuss particle methods with an emphasis on their utilization in flow simulations of incompressible liquid flows. In the continuum description of these flows particle methods correspond to vortex methods. We will present novel adaptive vortex methods along with a framework for flow control based on boundary conditions of vorticity production. In the nanoscale particle methods correspond to molecular dynamics and they provide a natural framework for multiscale simulations. We will discuss this framework and present simulations coupling continuum and atomistic particle descriptions. |
