On stationary kinetic problems of Boltzmann type and fluid limits |

The talk will start by a sketch of existence results for stationary non-linear Boltzmann like equations in a bounded domain. That is an area not covered by the DiPerna-Lions existence theory from the late 1980-ies. We shall then turn to more detailed properties of such equations with focus on a particular two-roll model problem including leading order hydrodynamic limits, but in a perspective of more general situations and the resolution of a variety of asymptotic questions. This can be considered as a discussion of "the rest term situation in the Kyoto asymptotics program". |
